Crazy Ants? Are They Headed to Dallas Texas?

Bandit
Crazy ants may be marching their ways deeper into North Texas and may begin showing up in Dallas Texas very soon. Millions and millions of these ants first started showing up in and around Houston Texas and the surrounding areas. These crazy ants have also been spotted in San Antonio Texas. These little pesks have already made their way Northward up to Huntsville Texas and many agriculture experts are becoming worried that these ants may make their march even farther North and show up in Dallas Texas sooner or later.

Doug Andrews who is the Director of Dallas County Agri-Life Extension said that he believes these crazy ants are being mechanically transported to North Texas by way of planes, trains, cars, trucks and so on. When you look at these ants and the way they carry on in whatever they are doing, they run around in circles, up and down, zigging and zagging everywhere. They look just plain crazy and it is as if the crazy ants themselves have no idea as to where they are going or what they are doing. They are constantly on the go and they look crazy.

Crazy ants will get on anything and everything they come across. Whenever people go outdoors and if there are any crazy ants around anywhere in the yard, then these ants will get on to people. Crazy ants will even get on small wildlife such as squirrels and rabbits and experts say that these pesky little ants will even get on the family pet/pets.

Crazy ants are very attracted to anything that has a sugary substance to it and they eat plants too. If there are any type of plants around your home that they are attracted to, then these crazy ants will easily make their ways into homes where all sorts of sugary type foods can be found.

Agricultural experts are becoming very concerned about the damage that these crazy ants can do not only to plants, but what damage they present for an air conditioning unit sitting outside the home. Hordes of these tiny crazy ants can get inside of an air conditioning unit and literally suck the life out of it which causes the unit to short out to where it will not work anymore.

Experts also say that even though these crazy ants do not bite a human, that they will cause problems in and around your home. Experts in Houston believe that these crazy ants may be marching their way to Dallas and that they will arrive sooner or later. It is just a matter of when.

Although Agricultural experts do not know much about the movement of these crazy ants at this time, they do say that simple pesticides can be used to control them in and around your home if you begin to see signs of them showing up.
