First Impressions
At first I was thinking Crazy Cake Chicks would be another knock-off of every other bakery/cupcake show on television. I was completely wrong. Where the televised programs display antics for ratings, Crazy Cake Chicks was the complete opposite.
Upon entering, the first person to greet you is one of the owners. She is engrossed in baking, so she is covered in flour and swatches of color on her apron. Aside from the "mess", she is pleasant and hospitable. She begins to explain the selection of donuts. She is knowledgeable of her craft. Also noticeable is her passion for baking.

My Take
Seeing dozens of nationally televised bakery style programs, I was hoping Crazy Cake Chicks would not pattern their business after these shows. I was pleased, they did no such thing. Crazy Cake Chicks makes wild, crazy, and unique cakes, while keeping a sense of local pride.
Along with their uniqueness, Crazy Cake Chicks has passion for their product. When ordering a cake, the owners are involved in the entire process. For any occasion, whether it is a wedding, birthday, or simply Wednesday, Crazy Cake Chicks will deliver a great product.

Post a CommentThe Confectionary on Long Beach Rd uses boxed cake mixes that are found on your local grocery shelves. The owner has been seen multiple times stocking up on the 10 for $10 box cake mix sale at Food Lion. Save your money and bake your own, it will taste just the same!
I tried them 2 different times and was very unhappy with the taste of my pies. The first time I thought I might have just had a bad piece of key lime, worst pie I had ever tasted, I can't even describe the taste. A week later I tried a piece of pecan pie and it was more of a pecan pie cheese cake and it then became the worst pie I had tasted. I talked to a few other locals who have been here longer than I and they said you have to ask for the stuff in the back. I don't understand why I have to ask for better items in the back, shouldn't it all be good? I only go to The Confectionary on long beach rd. I have never had anything bad there, and the prices are better. Just my 2 cents.
