Crazy Coulter: I Want What She's Smoking (and/or Sniffing)!

S.V.
I'd love some of what Ann Coulter is smoking even though I've never done any illegal drugs and have forgone prescription medications for the last five years even including antibiotics and Claritin.

Coulter trashed Kwanzaa and referred to it as a "phony non Christian" holiday. Apparently, if a holiday doesn't involve Jesus it isn't real. Kwanzaa might be "made up" as she so pointlessly describes it but not any more so than Christmas or any other celebration we define as a holiday. If Coulter lived 2,000 years ago, I wonder if she would actually be a follower of Christ? I'm sure Christmas 1,900 years ago looked a little "made up" and contrived to the Pagans. Perhaps she would have been scared off by the fact that it would be just her and twelve other males trekking through Jerusalem. Actually, she probably wouldn't. If she could go on the record harshly ridiculing 9-11 widows, she certainly knows no limitations. And since she's a virgin a Roman orgy would have been out of the question.

Unlike most of her opponents, I have no problem believing that she is in her mid forties and still a virgin. Of course, I believed Britney Spears too when she made a similar claim. I do, however, have trouble believing her IQ is above 108, and I'd lay 7-2 odds against that it isn't.

Hello! Kwanzaa is a "made-up" holiday? Aren't all holidays made up? They haven't just existed in their present form for the last 6 billion years. We don't live in a factory-sealed vacuum or sterile laboratory. Every holiday evolves out of the intricate balance between human relationships and the customs and traditions that are embedded in their cultural legacy and the political constraints occurring during our time on Earth. Holidays represent a manifestation of culture and beliefs which can't be separated from the essence of being human. It is impossible to take the context of a holiday out of the beliefs and customs of the culture that embraces the holiday, and I, nor any compassionate human, would ever attempt such a callous and pointless task. I would no more condemn a Christian holiday than a "made up" holiday, and Coulter has created a false distinction. Of course, I'm of the religious pluralist movement which she so vehemently despises, and apparently the only individuals worthy of regard by Ann Coulter's definition are Christians, more specifically ultra-conservative Christians- so I'm not even making her B-list.

Given the lapse in time of 1,000 or 2,000 years Jesus can certainly look like a bit of a hero to a billion or two humans, but I guess Coulter would never believe that Christmas was intended to replace a Pagan celebration. As the saying goes, the difference between a cult and a religion is about fifty years or so. I find it excessively paranoid and unnecessarily cynical that Coulter seriously believes that Kwanzaa is intended to draw attention away from our celebration of the birth of Christ. Many serious cultural and religious celebrations are best carried out in the winter, and somehow mid-August just wouldn't be an ideal time for burning a Yule log and sipping eggnog.

    She is insane.

I can't stand her. I can't stand her. I can't stand her. I can't help but wonder, if the man the Bible describes as Jesus would have had anything to do with her and yet she is the one to proclaim others Godless. I would go on about pots and kettles but I think you did so much more eloquently! Great article.

Neither my husband or I are fond of her, yet we're both registered Republicans.
