Crazy Critters as Seen on TV

A Great New Chew Toy for Dogs

As Seen On TV
Every once in awhile the As Seen On TV people come up with a real winner and Crazy Critters is no exception. Let's put aside the carnival atmosphere that goes with these products and focus on the product itself for a change. Well, wait a minute. That's kind of hard to do because after all it is an As Seen On TV product.

I don't understand why they insist on making every commercial as silly as possible. Maybe that's part of the marketing science behind this junk and I suppose I wouldn't be such a enthusiast without the entertainment value of the infomercial. But, in my opinion some of the commercials serve to do nothing more than cheapen the product. Some of those crazy products need to be embellished and pitched by a carnival barker but not Crazy Critters.

However, the fact that Crazy Critters has chosen to be marketed through this type of distribution channel will mean massive sales so the fact that it has a lot more value than an "inside the egg scrambler" really doesn't matter. People will love Crazy Critters no matter how they find out about them.

It's still fairly new to the market so let me explain with Crazy Critters are. In a nut shell, it's an all inclusive dog toy. By all inclusive I mean that it incorporates all the qualities which dog's love in their toys into a single super toy. When you buy Crazy Critters you receive a fox and a raccoon. They look plush but have no stuffing so they won't be torn apart. Further, the lack of stuffing makes them long and lean which makes them a perfect substitute for ropes. Dogs love to tug and pull and I'm sure we've all played that game but chances are the crazy critters will make your rope a thing of the past.

Rope toys are cool and all but they're just ropes. The crazy is tough like a rope but has two squeakers which for some reason dogs love. I've never heard a real animal sound like a squeaky toy so I never really understood the reason why dogs are so drawn to them, but for what ever reason there's a squeak in the head and a squeak in the tail of the both types of Crazy Critters.

In my experience dogs love to chase, chew, shake, hunt, fetch and guard their toys. It all seems quite obvious that dog toys are a great outlet for instinctive behavior. My dogs have always favored one toy over another and have gone through stages where some toys are completely ignored. There's nothing wrong with that but most of us have a ton of dog toys around the house and the Crazy Critters can replace them all.

The ad clearly points out that these things are fun for both large and small dogs, older dogs and puppies and pretty much indestructible. So far mine have held up well and I don't think they are in any danger of coming apart any time soon. I noticed that the Rugged Raccoon is favored over the Fox. For some reason my dog is very protective of it but could care less if I steal the fox. I can't find any reason for it but he's taken to only one of them.

The only issue with Crazy Critters I see for people is whether to buy them online or wait until they hit the stores. As for as I can see you cannot find Crazy Critters in stores and the offer online is a buy one get one free. Be prepared because there is a shipping and handling charge of $6.99. So here's the bottom line so there is no confusion.

If you want to buy Crazy Critters you will get the Fox and the Raccoon together for $10 plus $6.99 S&H for Each. That's a total of $24 dollars. I'm fine with paying $12 a toy for something my dog seems to enjoy. I've spent a lot of money on pet toys that are not nearly as cool as these so I think this is gonna be huge.

We bought the fox today for our cockapoo. Within 6 hours he chewed off both ears and feet. In addition he chewed open the tail and squeaker. Save your money...good concept, but no critter can stand up to a dog!

I brought home two of these critters this morning. The squeakers were gone with 10 minutes. Save your money. Buy a rope.

Are your dogs power chewers or are they just-carry-toys-in-the-mouth kind of dogs? I've read quite a few reviews of this product where the toys were destroyed in less than 10 minutes.
