I gave this movie a chance because I actually like Jenny McCarthy. I think she is a very funny actress but this movie is a complete waste of her time. I absolutely hated this movie. The plot is so stupid and the characters are so unlikable that I forgot the point of the movie after five minutes. I think the movie was supposed to be a romance but what is romantic about sex in back seat or back alley? The most annoying part of the movie is that the two main characters are constantly talking to the camera, telling us their life story. As if we care.
The basic plot is Whitney moves to New York City. After her new druggie friend Dee, played by Drea De Matteo, decides that Whitney is too uptight due to a lack of sex, she talks her into hiring a male prostitute. Misunderstandings ensue resulting in Whitney and Chris thinking each other are prostitutes. After a terrible sexual encounter in a car, they both pretty much hate each other. Eight months later they run into each other again and still harbor resentment over their last encounter so they manage to get each other fired from their current jobs. But of course they still have sex together in some back alley because that just makes perfect sense, have sex with someone you hate. Fast forward another year and Whitney is relocating to Arizona for a better job. Jimmy is still a loser but apparently Whitney now likes him and they leave together for Arizona. Give me a break. So after two years of random sexual encounters they are in love.
Not only is Jimmy a big time loser, so are his two friends. One friend is a typical homophobic construction worker who decides after sleeping with dozens of woman that he is gay. His other friend dates 16-year-olds. Did I mention Jimmy and his friends are twenty-eight? The only bright spot in the entire movie was Paul Dooley as the dad. He does play dads very well. I still remember him from Sixteen Candles. He really hasn't changed in twenty years besides looking slightly older.
Crazy Little Thing (or also known as The Perfect You) is a waste of time. I give the movie 0 out of 5 stars.
