Cockroaches are just flat out gross to deal with. Not to mention they move quite quickly when you are trying to kill them. Two products were bought to resolve the problem. First product was Combat's Source Kill bait stations. These are better known to many as roach motels, apartments, homes, etc... The idea behind the product is for the roach to go inside and take the bait. After they have taken the food, they bring it back to the nest where they eventually die. It comes in a box of 12 or 18 for the small roaches. The price is anywhere from $6-10 dollars depending on where the product is purchased.
The little bait homes were places in the kitchens and bathroom. For the first 5 days it appeared to be working that was until they seemed to have mastered a way to avoid eating the bait. Perhaps they had a meeting on the 5th day after seeing so many of their own dying off. None the less the battle still continued to destroy them. The next product was Roach & Ant Killer by Deep 6. The product kills them on contacts and is supposed to keep killing for up to 4 weeks. It comes in a .5 oz aerosol can and surprisingly was found in the Dollar Tree Store.
The cervices and crannies were sprayed and things seemed all right. That is until I saw one by the toaster one night. Quickly the roach spray was brought out as I banged the toaster for it to drop. Oddly enough the roach proceed to try and go into the roach bait station. Unfortunately assuming the roach more than likely didn't stop for a quick snack, it amazed me the roaches might be using these bait stations to hide when people were using the kitchen. It's a bit frustrating the item you brought to kill them is actually giving them a hide out station.
Between Combat and Deep 6 roach spray the spray appeared to keep the roaches out more and also cost less. Other ways to keep roaches away are to rinse out all dishes, utensils, glasses after use. Also put away food from the stove in sealed containers in the refrigerator. Take out the garbage more often and clean counter tops with soap and water.
These steps help enable a battle plan to destroy and eliminate further cockroaches from becoming a resident of your home. Good Luck!

Post a CommentI have recently seen 'Palmetto' Bugs. which are just cockroaches 10 times larger.
Thankfully, I don't have to deal with cockroaches. There are black widows around here where I live instead!
