Spring and Easter bring thoughts of coloring Easter eggs and bright spring flowers blooming. This centerpiece will help bring those wonderful feelings of spring into your home with little effort. This centerpiece is easy to create and looks so pretty setting on your table for spring and Easter time. Here is how to create your own blooming box centerpiece.

ITEMS NEEDED:

First you will need a short wide box. It should be a wooden box that is about 12 inches by 12 inches acrosss and the sides only need to be about 1 to 2 inches tall. You could find a short, wide wooden box like this at a craft store and at some retail stores in the craft section. Next you will need a bright spring colored paint, like bright green or yellow.

You will need some medium sized stones that are smooth. They could be white or regualr stone color. They should be about a 1/2 inch wide or so. Next, you will need some tiny plant pots. You can find these at craft stores as well. They should look like a tan terracotta pot, but be really small, only as tall as the sides of your box, about 2 inches. You will also need some eggs and an egg coloring kit. Finally, you will need some fresh cut tulips, a little potting soil, and water.

CREATE YOUR BLOOMING BOX:

First to start, you will need to paint your wooden box with your bright colored paint. Next, once the box has dried you can place your small plant pots in the box, use as many or as few as you would like. Then you can place your stones around the tiny plant pots to act as a filler. You can then boil and color your eggs, just like your would Easter eggs, with bright and fun colors. While your eggs are drying, put some soil in about half of the plant pots and plant one tulip in each. Then once your eggs are dried, you can place them in the other half of the tiny plant pots.

When you are done you have a box mixed with blooming tulips and colored Easter eggs, beautiful for your spring table.
