Create Bright Easter Egg Topiary Plants

When spring time rolls around we get into the spirit of changing out decor and cleaning things up. This is an excellent piece to be able to set by your front door for a spring decoration, in your living room, or on your Easter dinner table. Here is how to get started on this piece.

ITEMS NEEDED:

First you will need two 15-inch foam cones, you can find these at craft stores. Then you will need a large bowl or pedestal styled bowl, it should not be clear it should be white or painted, white would look best. Make sure that the bowl is large enough to hold the 15-inch foam cones.

Next, you will need another piece of styrofoam that will fit right into the bowl, so that the 15-inch foam cones can set on top of it and all of their height can be seen from outside of the bowl. Finally, you will need some styrofoam eggs from the craft store, they could be already colored or you could get paint and paint them yourself.

CREATE THE TOPIARY CENTERPIECE:

To start on the centerpiece, first put the filler piece of foam into the bottom of your bowls. Next, you can use some glue or toothpicks to secure the 15-inch foam cones in place on top of the filler piece of foam. Now paint your foam eggs if needed. You can paint them however you want, with polka dots or lines or solid colors, it is up to you.

Once the eggs have dried, you can start placing them onto the foam cone. Simply stick a toothpick into each egg and start placing them onto the foam cone. Start at the bottom and work your way up to the top, making sure to cover every square inch of the cone as possible.
