GLASS BOWL: You will need a large glass bowl. Try to get a smooth glass bowl for best results; however, a glass bowl with a design on it will work as well. Simply make sure that it is clear glass, not colored. It should be a large bowl the size of a punch bowl or bigger.
CHRISTMAS ORNAMENTS: Get some red and green glass bulb ornaments to use in the bowl. You could also get gold or silver bulbs, use any Christmas colored bulb that you would like. You could use dark burgundy with gold if you would like. You could match the color of the bulbs to the color of the bulbs on your Christmas tree to make it look like it matches and belongs with the Christmas decor.
CHRISTMAS GREENERY GARLAND: Get some pine garland or you could use holly and berries if you would prefer. Just some sort of greenery to fill up the bowl with. Get greenery with lights already on it or get a strand of lights also.
MAKE YOUR CHRISTMAS BOWL DECORATION: If you are decorating with garland that has lights you can simply start layering the bowl. Put a little garland on the bottom, starting with the end opposite of the plug for the lights, then place a few bulbs on top of that layer of garland. Make sure that you can see the bulbs from the outside of the bowl. Then layer some more garland on top of those bulbs, then more bulbs, keep repeating the process until the bowl is full. If you are using garland or holly and berries without lights in it, simply lay some of the lights on top of the garland or holly each time you add a layer. Start with the female end of the lights in the bowl. Make sure that the lights will be along the outside of the bowl so that they can be seen.
DISPLAY YOUR CHRISTMAS BOWL: When you have finished you can decide where you want to put your bowl. Your electric cord will be coming out of the top of the bowl so that you can plug the bowl in wherever you display it. This will be a gorgeous glowing bowl decoration for the holidays.
To make your decoration storable and re-usable, you could super-glue the greenery, lights, and bulbs as you go. This way you will be able to store it and bring it out again next year to use.
