MIRROR: You will need to purchase a large, round mirror that has beveled edges. The mirror should be the right size for the area over your vanity. You do not want a mirror that is too large or a mirror that is too small. The mirror should simply cover the wall area that is over the sink in your vanity. A round mirror that is at least 3 to 6 feet across should be sufficient. If you have a large vanity with two sinks or one sink and a lot of counter space, you may consider getting two round mirrors that are identical to hang side by side and complete your look. Make sure that the mirror has beveled edges, but does not have a frame around the edge of it. Get a mirror that is thin also.
FABRIC: Find some fabric that you like that will match your bathroom decor or bathroom colors. Do not get a fabric that is too stiff, you want it to be loose and pliable. You could get a sheer fabric or a solid fabric, just make sure that it is the right color or colors to match your bathroom. You should get a long enough piece of fabric to go all the way around the outer edge of your mirror. It does not need to be too wide of a piece, simply long enough to cover the outer edge of the mirror and have enough left over to tie a nice bow with.
MAKE THE MIRROR: To design your mirror you will need a drill, the mirror, and the piece of fabric that you have selected. Start by drilling one inch circular holes all the way around the edge of the mirror evenly spaced apart. Space the holes about 3 to 5 inches apart from one another. Be careful not to crack or break the mirror when drilling these holes. If you are unsure how to do this, consider having it done by a professional glass company. Once the holes are drilled, you will weave your fabric in and out of the holes. So every other space between the holes will have fabric and then the next space will not, because the fabric will be behind the mirror. Once you have the fabric completely weaved through, you can tie a bow. You can either tie the bow in front of the mirror to display it or you can tie it behind the mirror to hide it. Which ever look you prefer is how you can do it. Once you bow is tied, your mirror is complete and ready to hang for display.
