ITEMS NEEDED: There are a few items you will need to make this simple double layer centerpiece. First you will need a square glass vase that is perfectly square. It should be about 6 inches by 6 inches by 6 inches. It could be bigger or smaller depending on what you want. You will also need two dozen roses per vase. You should get one dozen that is one color and another dozen that is another color. You may want to put a little water in the bottom of the vase also.
CREATE THE DOUBLE LAYER ROSE CENTERPIECE: To create this double layer rose centerpiece is very simple. First you will need to cut all of the same colored roses to the exact same height. So for your first color that you want to appear as the bottom layer of roses, cut the stems so that the roses are only 3 inches tall from bottom of the stem to the top of the rose. Next, cut the second color roses so that they are 6 inches tall (if you are using a 6 inch vase) from the bottom of the stem to the top of the rose. Now place a little water in the bottom of the vase, only a couple of inches. Start by placing all of the 3 inch tall roses into the vase first, you want to sort of pack them neatly into the square vase, making them all stand in line and stand upright as much as possible. You may need a few more roses if they are too loose and want to fall over. Once you have the first layer packed, you will start packing in the second layer. Be sure that you remove all of the thorns from the rose stems so that they do not damage the other roses. Start packing the second layer of roses into the vase in the same way you did the first layer, neatly standing straight up in straight rows.
Once you have both layers of roses packed into the vase you are finished. It will have a neat uniform look and also a unique layered look.
