Create a Fruit and Candy Dish for the Center of Your Christmas Table

An edible centerpiece for your Christmas table is one of the best kind. It not only makes your table pretty and festive, but it serves as a snack for your guests while they are waiting for the meal to get finished. Here is a simple, yet elegant idea for an edible Christmas centerpiece to put on your table this year.

FESTIVE GLASS BOWL: First you will need to find a medium size bowl to fill for your Christmas centerpiece. You should get a glass bowl, it could have some fancy designing on it if you prefer. Make sure it is big enough to hold enough fruit and candy for all of your guests. You will also need 1 or 2 smaller bowls to set on each side of the large bowl. Then get a small dish or short vase with some toothpicks in it.

FAMILY'S CHRISTMAS CANDY AND FRUIT: Use finger fruit such as cranberries, grapes, apple slices, strawberries, and any other fruits that you family likes or prefers. Then get some candy, like sugary cherry or orange fruit slices and any other candies that are soft. You could also add some nuts into the mix if you would like. Cashews or almonds would go great in this festive Christmas centerpiece dish.

CHOCOLATE: You will also need to get some milk or white chocolate for dipping. You could use both if you would like. You will simply need to melt the chocolate down to a dipping consistency before setting up your Christmas centerpiece.

CREATE AND MAKE YOUR CENTERPIECE: When you have everything you need, you will need to melt some chocolate as well. You can melt white chocolate or milk chocolate or both. You will put the melted chocolate into the smaller dishes. Place some toothpicks out also for everyone to use as dipping sticks for their fruit and candy if they wish. Simply put all of the candy and fruit into the large glass dish and toss it around a little bit to get it mixed up. Once you have everything in their dishes you can set them on the table to be enjoyed. You could add some pine around the dishes to make it look really festive or some holly and berries also. Your guests will love the variety of snacks that they have to choose from and especially the dipping choices. You may want to set the dishes on a large platter if you are worried about the chocolate getting dripped on your Christmas table cloth. You could also put down a towel, because the chocolate will probably get dripped, especially if kids are eating it.
