CARD STOCK: The first thing you will need is some paper to make your cards with. You could use some card stock paper that is colored or colored construction paper. Whatever you have around the house is fine to use. Most of it will be covered, so it simply serves the purpose of being the foundation for your card. Try to use Christmas colors, like red or green, silver or gold.
PHOTOS: Next you will need to collect the photo or photos that you want to use on your cards. If you want to use one photo for all of the cards, then you will need to get copies make of the photo. You could use a vacation photo from that year or simply a family photo that you have taken for Christmas. The theme of your photo will be the theme of your cards. You could even use a picture of your kids playing in the snow. Make it fun and be creative.
MAGAZINES: Next you will need to search around your house to find some magazines that have some pictures in them that will compliment your photos well. For example, if you use a picture of your kids playing in the snow, you will need to find pictures in magazines of snowflakes or snowmen. Or if you use a family vacation photo for your cards, you will need to find magazine pictures of palm trees or the name of the state or beach you visited. Once you have found a lot of magazine pictures and words to cut out that compliment your photo you can cut them out and start pasting them on your cards. Paste the magazine cut outs on the cards first and the paste your family photo on top of the magazine clippings.
Make the cards fun and creative. You could also use pieces of fabric or glitter to jazz up your photo Christmas cards to send to your family and friends. They will love them because of the photo and because of the homemade touch.
