VASES: To complete this large and simple centerpiece you will need three large vases. Use three large (about 1 and 1/2 to 3 feet tall) vases. The vases should vary in height. One tall, one medium, and one short vase will be needed. Get different shaped vases as well to add to the drama of the piece. Use a fish bowl shaped vase for one, a square vase for another, and a cylinder shaped vase for the last. Use any large vase that you find and like at any craft or retail store.
ROSES: Get three long stemmed roses that match the color of your wedding. One will be used in each vase. You could use real roses or fake ones. If you do not want to use roses, simply use another flower that has a long stem. Roses work well because they come in all different colors and go very well with weddings.
MARBLES: Get enough marbles to fill the bottom of each vase up to 2 inches. You could get colored marbles that match the color of the flowers or your could use clear marbles, it is up to you. You could even get creative and use three different colored flowers and three different colors of marbles to match your wedding colors. Make it large and make it dramatic.
PUT CENTERPIECE TOGETHER: To put the centerpiece together, simply stage the vases in position where you want them. Stager them around to form an attractive look. Then fill the bottom of each vase with the marbles. Make sure that each vase has an even amount of marbles. For example, if the marbles only come up 2 inches high in the first vase, make sure they only come up 2 inches high in the other vases as well. Then place one of the long stem roses or flowers that you choose in each vase. The marbles help hold the flowers in any position that you want them. Allow them to rest on one side or the other of the vases. Do not have them facing all in the same direction, mix it up a little to add to the drama and beauty of the piece. You could also add water to make the flowers look more realistic if you wish.
