THINGS YOU WILL NEED:
First you should get a few mirrors for the walls. You can get long mirrors, oval mirrors, or round mirrors. Whatever fits your style and taste will be fine, use your imagination to make things look different and really update your bedroom's look. Next, get some longer curtain rods. You should get some bigger round curtain rods, not the cheap kind. Get them in whatever color you would like.
Next, get some long curtains, the curtains should be longer than your windows. The best look would be to get curtains that you can hang about 6 inches to 1 foot above the tops of your windows and will hang all the way to the floor. Again, get the color you want that will update the look of the room and match your decor. Remember, beige curtains usually match anything and would really open the room up and make it look larger, because of the light color. Try to stay away from dark colored curtains, as they will only give the room a smaller feel.
MAKE YOUR ROOM LARGE:
Next comes the designing part. You simply need to get a little creative here. First, do the easy part. Hang your curtain rods about 6 inches to 1 foot higher than the windows themselves and make sure that the curtian rods reach 5 to 6 inches out past each edge of the windows. You want the curtains to hang out beyond the actual edge of the windows. Then place your big oversized curtains on the rods and hang them up. Open the curtains, so that the entire window shows through between the curtains, simply let the curtains fall straight down, they do not need to be tied back.
Now that you have the curtains in place, giving your windows a much larger feel and effect on the room you can decide where you hang your mirror or mirrors where they will reflect the most light. The more light your mirrors reflect, the bigger they will make the room feel. Do not be scared to possibly hang some mirrors on the ceiling or near the tops of the walls close to the ceiling. Be different and creative and try a few things. Anything you try doesn't have to be permanent, simply try something new, you never know, you may love it.
