This lit sand and seashell centerpiece will look elegant and also be budget friendly for your wedding reception decor, since you can create it yourself. Have someone who is crafty in your family help by creating these centerpieces for your wedding and you will save money on decorating. Follow these simple steps to create these gorgeous centerpieces.

ITEMS YOU WILL NEED:

First you will need a few items to get started. You will need a rectangular serving tray with a 1 or 2 inch lip around the edge to hold the sand. Next, you will need two white pilar candles, you could use the kind that have embeded seashells in the sides of them. You will need some fake flower buds that will match the flowers you are using in your wedding or at least match the colors you are using. Finally, you will need some white or beige sand and some seashells.

CREATE YOUR LIT SAND AND SEASHELL CENTERPIECE:

The first step to creating this beautiful centerpiece is to place the two pilar candles evenly in the center of the serving tray. Next, once you have the candles where you want them, you can add the sand to the tray. Carefully pour it into the bottom of the tray, making sure not to pour too much in, so that it won't spill over the edges of the tray, the lip will help keep it in. Now you simply add the flower buds, without stems, around the bases of each candles. Simply place them all the way around the bottom of each candle. Then add the seashells on top of the sand where ever it looks bare.

You can set these lit sand and seashell centerpieces on the center of your tables and light them right before the reception for an elegant look.
