Create a Maternity Care Kit for a Special Pregnant Woman

Typically all of the parties and celebrations prior to a baby's birth are all about the baby. But what about the mom-to-be? Pregnancy can be a trying, though exciting time, for any mom, whether experienced or not. If you have a special pregnant woman in your life consider creating a maternity care kit for her. A maternity care kit is simply a gift just for a pregnant woman that includes all sorts of special items just for this soon-to-be mommy.

Pregnancy Pillow. A pregnancy wedge pillow is a wonderful item to add to a maternity care kit. Pregnancy wedge pillows support the enlarged belly making it easier for a pregnant woman to sleep on her side. Look for pregnancy wedge pillows at any baby store for around $10. A pregnancy pillow will be a much appreciated addition to a maternity care kit.

Maternity Clothing Gift Card. Pregnant women often try to spend as little as possible on their maternity wardrobe to save money for the baby. This causes many pregnant women to wear the same thing day after day. Add a small maternity clothing gift card, $10-$20 is plenty, to a maternity care kit so the special pregnant woman in your life can buy a new shirt.

Stretch Mark Cream or Leg Cream. A great addition to any maternity care kit is stretch mark cream or leg cream. Stretch mark cream can be used on a pregnant belly to help prevent stretch marks, soften existing stretch marks, and reduce itchiness often associated with a growing pregnant belly. Leg cream may soothe the swollen legs of pregnant women and offer a little relief from varicose vein pain. These creams can be found at any larger retailer, baby, or maternity store and run about $6-$10 each.

Pregnancy Massage. If you really want to add something special to a maternity care kit, add a certificate or gift card for a pregnancy massage. Look for a salon, hospital, or massage therapist that specializes in pregnancy massage since not just any massage is good for pregnant women. Expect this maternity care kit item to run around $60 or more for an hour massage.

These items, along with others that may be found in baby stores or maternity stores, are all wonderful additions to a maternity care kit. Celebrate not only the upcoming birth, but also the pregnant mom herself, by creating a maternity care kit for the special pregnant woman in your life.
