Create Your Own Diet: The 12 Best Diet Tips Around

J M K
I have tried every diet and can never stick to them. I finally learned to eat sensibly and take advise from diet plans but stop trying to follow them word for word. Below are some of the great tips I've learned. Most of the tips are things to add to your diet - eating more, what an easy diet. Pick the ones you know will work for you and create your own diet.

1. Drink More Water
Thats right. Water helps your digestion system and fills you up when you think you are hungry which ]can help keep off the calories. Don't forget the added benefits for your skin, hair and nails.

2. Eat Your Vitamins
Vitamins that have been proven to aid in weight loss include Vitamin B (2, 3, 5 and 6), Choline (also part of the B-complex) and Vitamin C. Vitamin B regulates the thyroid hormone and metabolism. Vitamin B can be found in milk, eggs, whole grain foods and green vegetables. Choline is needed for efficient fat metabolism and can be found in egg yolks, cauliflower, and cucumbers. Vitamin C can be found in citrus fruits and helps to convert glucose to energy.

3. Start with a Healthy Breakfast
Breakfast really does kick start your metabolism in the morning. A healthy one will just set the tone for the day. Choose a breakfast that is lean and packed full off energy like eggs and fruit or a soy breakfast patty.

4. Keep a Food Journal
Yes, I know, you remember what you eat but you will be more likely to hold yourself accountable if you force yourself to write down everything you eat (no cheating). If you know you have to right down the snack you are about to have, you meet reach for the apple instead of the bag of chips.

5. Replace Pasta, and White Flour Items with Whole Grains
White flours are bad, anyway you look at it. If you are addicted to the stuff, don't try to cut it out completely. Stock up in whole grain pasta, breads and other alternatives.

6. Keep Snacking
Replace bad snacks with healthy snacks (like fruits, vegetables, almonds, and whole grain crackers). Do not try to cut out snacking or you will get so hungry that you will go for something you will later regret. You need to feed your cravings and not ignore them but ween yourself off of the bad stuff (chips, cookies, and candy) with healthier low fat versions of your favorite snacks. Then switch the low fat versions with fruits and vegetables.

It is a myth that snaking at night makes you gain more weight. Food has the same effect on your body at any time during the day. The myth started because people tend to snack on "bad" foods at night and not follow their diets.

7. Don't Sweat It
If you break one of your rules don't get down on yourself, just do better next time. If you get too upset you might give up your diet completely. Don't tell yourself that you will start your diet again tomorrow; start again right then.

8. Give Up Chocolate Completely
Chocolate is addictive (one piece always seems to lead to another) so if you choose to cut out chocolate from your diet, you need to cut it out completely. No cheating.

9. Limit the Caffeine
I'm sure you have heard that caffeine revs up your metabolism and it does but it also makes your metabolism drop. When your metabolism, drop you get hungry fast and when you are that hungry you might go for the easiest food around. Limit your caffeine to keep a steady metabolism.

10. Limit the Alcohol or Keep a Sober Diet Buddy
Alcohol itself is high in calories. A good drink to keep the calories down is vodka tonic (even better vodka diet tonic). Besides the calories from drinking, drinking lowers your inhibitions which might make it hard to keep to your diet. So limit the alcohol and if you must drink, assign a sober diet buddy who will not let you break your diet rules.

11. Avoid Meal Replacement Bars and Shakes
If you are a person that likes to snack or need to eat a good amount to feel full then avoid meal replacement bars and shakes. They are small items packed with a lot of nutrients and calories. They are designed to be one-third of your daily intact of vitamins and calories; they are not snacks. If you would like a bar to snack on look for 100 calorie snack bars.

12. Stay Positive
Don't get down on yourself; you can be your own worst enemy. Pump yourself up and give yourself encouragement. Let other people in on your diet too. The positive feedback and support could really help you along.
