Create a Ponytail Great for Any Occasion

Alright girls, if you are looking for a simple yet beautiful hairdo that is quick yet gorgeous you're in the right place. Today we are going work on a sleek ponytail look that will work for practically any occasion: casual, dressy, beach, etc.

The multi-personality ponytail will work on shoulder length or longer hair; it works best with long hair, though. All hair will be pulled back into a poker straight weave and up off the face.

What you are going to need:
1" Flat Iron

Medium hold hairspray

Bobby pins (optional)

Elastic band

Sleek and Shiny Serum

Step One:
Make sure you are working with clean hair before you begin. Before you begin the next steps, you hair should be washed, dry, and brushed.

Step Two:

Apply a little sleek and shiny serum to your hair; comb through well. Now, using your 1" flat iron, straighten all your hair. You are going for a poker straight appearance, so start at the roots of your hair and run the flat iron straight down. At the very end of the hair strand you are straightening, slightly, and I do mean slightly, pull the iron out - away from your face. Pulling outward will prevent the hair from curling into a face-framing position.

Step Three:

Now you are going to pull all your hair back into a ponytail. The pony should rest a little higher than center of your head, but not as high as your crown. All hair should be pulled into the pony, including any bangs you may have. If your bangs are too short to reach into the pony along with all the other hair, use small bobby pins to hold the short hairs in place on top of your head. Make sure that you sooth the hairs down so they aren't sticking up in visible sight. Pin up any short hairs that hang down by your neck.

Step Four:

For a secure and long lasting hold, spray your entire head with medium hold hair spray. Make sure to hold the hairspray at least 12" from your hair so you get an even coverage. If you hold the hairspray too close to your hair, you will experience a hard/stiff chunk of hair.
