Design and print your own Christmas card to send this season instead of wasting money on an impersonal card from the store. Using basic software already installed on your computer, create a professional, elegant design in minutes.

Supplies Needed:
Word processing software
Printer
White card stock
Paper cutter/scissors

Instructions:

Open the word processing software on your computer. Click the "New Painting" icon from the top of page to open the painting program associated with your software. Select "Resize" from the menu bar at the top of the page and change the pixel size to 400 by 600.

Choose a background color for your card design from the color palette available. Select the paint bucket tool and click on the background to fill it with your chosen color.

Choose a new color from the color palette. Select the line tool and draw an ornamental border around the background using the new color.

Click the "Clip Art" icon at the top of the page and select a Christmas design to add to the card. Choose an item such as a Christmas tree, an elf, Santa Claus or perhaps and beautiful ornament. Click the "X" in the top right hand corner to close the paint page and insert the design in your word processor.

Select a fancy font from the text tool bar. Choose a font size from 18 to 24, depending on the size you like and select a font color that complements your design. Type a Christmas greeting on the card design. Choose a smaller sized font to "sign" your name or the name of each of your family members.

Place a sheet of white card stock into the printer as suggested by the printer's owner manual. Click the printer icon at the top of your software. Choose the number of prints you want to make and click "OK" to print your Christmas card. Use a paper cutter to cut away any excess paper from your printed card design.
