Here are a few examples. Two of the greatest sports legends of our time: Muhammed Ali and Dale Earnhardt Sr. This author has always been a huge fan of both so what you're about to read is not about disparaging the legacy of either, in any way, shape, or form. The analogy will be made using the two sports icons careers as a method of pointing out how one's reality is created.
Let's start with Ali, in all his greatness he was never a gracious winner. He was the "greatest of all time" in the ring, and his civil exploits outside the ring made him a social/political figure as well. You cannot take that away from him nor should you. However, he berated his opponents before and after his fights. It's one thing to try to get into the mind of your challenger, to attempt to psyche him out, but to continue the deleterious comments after the fight was taking it too far. His boldness was second to none, and it was great to see at that particular time in history, especially coming from a man of color, but there are certain lines of respect that you do not cross, and the great Ali crossed those lines on several occasions.
The reality that was created we see today. Muhammed Ali has difficulty speaking now and is beset with Parkinson disease, coupled with taking too many blows to the head, long past his prime. He spoke with a brash, energetic tone that belittled those in his path. He simply did not realize the harm his words caused.
Ralph Dale Earnhardt was arguably the greatest NASCAR driver of all times. He was a polarizing figure, both loved and hated in the sport. The latter because of his penchant for winning at any cost. For bumping any driver that came into his path, not necessarily worrying about backlash on or off the track.
In 2001, Earnhardt's #3 car hit the Daytona 500 wall at a critical angle at nearly 150 miles per hour. In an instant, the king of racing was no more. Looking at his tragic demise from a spiritual and universal perspective, it was Karma revisiting him. It was the reality he created for himself.
Lesane Parish Crooks aka Tupac Shakur, dead at 25. Christopher George Latore Wallace aka Biggie Smalls, dead at 24. Both were creators of their own tragic reality. Of course, one's reality certainly does not have to be tragic.
Good and bad habits, practice, dreams, eccentric behavior, affirmations (whether they are openly used or not), play major roles in creating one's reality. We can say it's not fair, it's not right, or question, "why is this happening to me?" It's sort of ironic that we rarely ask that same question when good things happen. We create the good right along with the bad. If you were able to look at your life, exactly where you are now, in an aerial-timeline, with life experience as your guide, you would clearly see why you are where you are. It's the reality you have created.
Bitterness, hatred, envy, jealousy, and greed; if either is a part of you, it becomes a part of your world. These are also the type of people and the type of circumstances you attract. This is why "Reality Shows" are so popular because we can see that others have the same, if not more drama in their lives than we do. It makes one think that, "it's not just me," or "it's not just my family." The consequences that you encounter are created by the things you do or don't do in your daily routine. If there are shady, unscrupulous characters in your life it's because you brought them there through your habits, deeds, and your way of thinking.
In order to extricate these individuals from your life you have to remove that which is within you that attracts them. It's like a magnet, where ever you go you are attracting what is emanating from your spirit.
You cannot and will never come to the realization of what's "in you," unless you're able to take a step back and look at yourself objectively. This is the only way you can understand the reality you have created.
We are all architects of our own destiny. Therefore, examine the negativity in your life, find the cause, and eradicate these elements from your soul. This will change your outer world for the better.
