A simple shrine to the Wiccan God and Goddess is easy to create and it need not be elaborate. Save the formality for the formal altar and create this space as a place to pray and attune. You can use anything as the base for your shrine. A small end table or TV stand will work wonderfully. Whatever you decide to use, make sure you consecrate it and use it only for this purpose. This will be a holy shrine dedicated to the Wiccan God and Goddess.
Once you've selected a foundation for your shrine, you may want to choose an altar cloth to cover it. There are many beautiful altar cloths that you can purchase from Wiccan supply stores. Some have symbols of the God and Goddess, others portray Celtic symbols. You may just want to use a plain color cloth or you can choose not to cover the shrine at all. This is strictly a matter of personal taste. I choose to cover my shrine with a plain colored altar cloth to cover the bottom, where I store supplies.
You'll need a symbol of the Wiccan God and Goddess for your shrine. This symbol can be anything from a white candle to symbolize the Goddess or a yellow candle to symbolize the God to an ornate statue to portray the Wiccan deities. Use something that is meaningful to you. If you live in a home with other non-Wiccans, you might not want to be so bold as to use blatant pagan symbols. In this case, a corresponding candle may be the best choice to represent the Wiccan God and Goddess.
You will also want a censer and incense to grace your shrine to the Wiccan God and Goddess. When you are ready to pray or give an offering, the incense can be lit to help promote a more spiritual state of mind or to consecrate an item before offering. The censer can be anything from a seashell to a bowl of sand or even an elaborate pagan censer if you wish.
The final necessity for your shrine to the Wiccan God and Goddess is a small plate, bowl or other container to hold offerings. You can use anything you wish for this from a small saucer to a seashell or piece of pottery. Whatever you choose for this purpose, use it only for offerings. It will become a holy thing and shouldn't be used for other reasons if you can help it.
Anything else you want to add to your shrine to the Wiccan God and Goddess is completely up to you. You may wish to decorate it with seasonal flowers and grains, stones and crystals, feathers, ribbons, drawings, statues, other symbols of the Wiccan God and Goddess, etc. However, keep in mind it doesn't have to be elaborate to be a shrine.
You may wish to change the decorations and/or altar cloth as the seasons change. In the spring, you may wish to have a green altar cloth to symbolize the fertility of the Goddess, God and the Earth. In the fall, you may wish to use an orange altar cloth, etc. This is completely up to you. What is most important is that the items you use for your shrine are meaningful to you and represent the Wiccan God and Goddess as you relate to them.
Once you have put your shrine together, you will want to bless it before using it for the first time. Light the incense and sprinkle it with water and salt, while asking the elements and the God and Goddess to bless and consecrate the space. You can write your own words for the blessing, incorporate someone else's or just speak from your heart as you do it.
Now that your shrine to the Wiccan God and Goddess has been created and blessed, use it often. I pray daily to the God and Goddess at my shrine and try to leave them an offering each day. If you leave an offering at the shrine, remember to return it to the earth the next day by burying it in the ground outside your home or on your property some where.
Enjoy your shrine to the Wiccan God and Goddess and allow your connection with them to grow as you do. Blessed be!
