Create Stunning Scrapbook Pages Every Time

A Step by Step Guide to Completing Perfect Scrapbook Layouts

Ever wonder how seasoned scrapbookers make their pages look just so perfect? The right color scheme, the right layout and the right embellishments are the key. This doesn't mean you have to spend a fortune!! There are many places online where you can buy beautiful supplies for little money.

Step One: Shop for your supplies. Pick two colors you want to work with that match the photos you plan to use and shop for products in only those colors. If you are doing a 2 page layout, purchase 4 coordinating papers, 2 of the same design and 2 solid colors (if you are using the busy paper for the background, make sure the solid colors are different and vice versa). Often, craft stores (online and offline) have things organized by color anyway, which makes it a lot easier to find what you are looking for. Start with the paper, then move on to embellishments such as, ribbon, letters, stickers, 3-d art, etc....think about your color theme and the inspiration for the layout. Choose only embellishments that match and you only need 5 or less.

Step Two: Spread out your supplies, make sure you have all of your tools handy (i.e. scissors, cutter, adhesives, etc.). Decide which papers you will use as your background and which for your photo mats (Choose two papers for the mats). If you are planning to use busy paper for the background, make sure you are using solid paper for your photo mats and vice versa.

Step Three: Cut your photo mats. I recommend cutting two of the same size (4 x 6) and a square (4 x 4) third. Then make the exact same cuts on coordinating paper 1/4" larger than the size you cut your first mats. Remember, you want to double your mats to make your pictures pop off the page. Organize them on your page where you'd like them to be, but don't glue down!

Step Four: Choose your title! If you bought letter stickers for this, mount them on the leftover solid paper to add dimension, then cut out around them.

Step Five: Place your embellishments around where you plan to stick them down to give you an overall view of how you want your page to look.

Step Six: Starting with the photo mats, glue down each of the embellishments as they are layered.

Step Seven: Add your photos and journaling.

Step Eight: Sit back and enjoy your new layout!

With these easy steps you should be able to complete many stunning layouts quickly and easily...Every Time!
