ITEMS NEEDED:
First you will need three glass vases that are the same height. Two of the vases should be slender wave vases. These vases are the same width all the way up and kind of look wavy. Then you will need a center vase that is square, but kind of has rounded sides that compliment the waves of the other two vases.
Next, you will need two colors of sand. If you have two wedding colors, try to find both of those colors of sand, if not you could use one color of sand and white sand. White sand looks good with most any color of sand, because it compliments it well. You can find colored sand at craft stores and some retail stores, but if you cannot find the color you are looking for, check a pet store, they carry sand for their hermet crabs and have a nice color selection most of the time.
CREATE YOUR TRI-SAND CENTERPIECE:
Now comes the easy part of putting together this centerpiece. First in the center vase, that has the rounded out sides, you will layer the two colors of sand together. Simply pour a little of one color and then a little of the other color, continuing to layer them until the vase is filled up. Next, pour just one color into one of your wavy vases and just the other color into your other wavy vase.
To display them on the tables, place the vase with both colors in the middle and the wavy vases on each side of it. This is beautiful, because it shows each color by itself and then it also shows the colors layered. You might need a lot of sand, depending on the size of your vases. You could also use this same concept with different shaped vases or with glass jars that have lids, if you want to make it simpler. It is a very versital centerpiece.
