Create New Ways to Use Coffee Filters

More for Than Just Coffee!

Dina Montgomery
We love our coffee in the morning, and making coffee will require the use of a coffee filter. I always make sure that I have plenty of coffee filters ready and waiting. But I don't just use coffee filters for making coffee. I have found that there are many creative uses that you can get with coffee filters. Here are some tips to create new ways to use coffee filters.

Creative new ways to use coffee filters: As a serving plate

Using a coffee filter is a perfect way to serve certain foods. Serve popcorn, chips, hot dogs, hamburgers, and even tacos. The coffee filter will act as a bowl and does an excellent job in keeping your fingers clean. There is also no need to clean dishes, when you're through with it, just toss it into the trash.

Creative new ways to use coffee filters: Keep cookware from rusting

To keep your cast-iron cookware from rusting and to prolong its life, use coffee filters. All you need to do is place a coffee filter in the cookware when you are not using it. The coffee filter is great for absorbing moisture and will prevent them from rusting, and will act as a cushion when you stack your cookware on top of each other. No need to worry about scratches.

Creative new ways to use coffee filters: Make easy air fresheners

We all know that the aerosol air fresheners that we buy at the supermarket can get pretty pricey after awhile, but there is an easier and inexpensive way to freshen your home with using coffee filters. Just fill a coffee filter with some baking soda and then twist-tie the coffee filter shut. You are now ready to place them wherever you'd like, such as in closets, shoes, clothes drawers, and even in the fridge.

You can also have your kids color and create art on some coffee filters. Now you have a pretty display to show off around your home. Your kids will also feel proud for what they have created.

Creative new ways to use coffee filters: No mess microwave

Coffee filters are a perfect cover for food in the microwave. They easily fit over bowls and dishes to catch any splatters from the food that you are cooking in the microwave. They are microwave-safe and after you're done with them, just simply throw them in the trash.

Creative new ways to use coffee filters: Ice cream with less mess

This is a great way to serve ice cream to your little ones. Just get two coffee filters and poke a hole in the middle, and slide the ice cream stick through the hole. It works great as a catcher when the ice cream starts to melt. When they are through with their tasty treat, all they need to do it toss it into the trash.

Creative new ways to use coffee filters: Clean with less scratching

Coffee filters work great when you need to clean your eyeglasses or when you need to safely polish mirrors and computer screens. A good-quality coffee filter is made from hundred percent virgin paper, so you can feel confident to use them to clean delicate areas without scratching. The next time you need to clean your eyeglasses or computer screen, use a coffee filter instead of a tissue or paper towel.

Follow some of these tips today and you will soon be stocking coffee filters in your cupboards so you won't run the risk of running out.
