Be creative and have fun, by celebrating the New Year with those you love. Instead of fighting traffic and trying find a cheap babysitter. First, you will need to visit a party store and locate the perfect decorations for your celebration. Afterwards, you may need to stop at a store, so you can purchase a decorated cake or you can make your own. Also, don't forget to buy everyone's favorite ice-cream and some drinks.
All children love party favors, so let them help decorate the designated party room or the entire house with the decorations that you bought. Next, you need to pick a DJ and put them in charge of playing the music you will listen to all night. Ask them to choose the appropriate music to play, during the party or let everyone make request. Encourage everyone share their highlights and disappointments of this past year.
Then, ask them to reveal their New Year's resolutions and whether they believe they can succeed. You can ask other questions that you come up with; however try to make them fun and interesting. Let everyone participate in a talent contest and show off their talent. Remember to reward each contestant with something small. Right before midnight, gather some glasses and fill them with a drink.
At midnight, toast the New Year and start cutting the cake. After serving everyone cake and ice-cream, you can wrap up the night by asking everyone to reveal what their most thankful for. Every child loves to party and help out, while planning or decorating for a party. So this year, plan something different with your family or you may invite other families to join you. Either way, you are bound to have fun and bring your family closer...just in time for the New Year.

A great idea! A few years ago, my husband and I started spending New Year's Eve with family instead of out with friends, and I have to say that it's far more rewarding!
Great idea. I would prefer to stay home than go out.
The older I've gotten, the more I've appreciated a quiet night at home on New Years Eve. It's all my husband can do to stay up until midnight, but not me-I'm a night person! LOL! Great suggestions for a family-friendly party! Thank you!
Great article. I usually just hang out at home on New Year's Eve.
nice article with wonderful suggestions
Nicely written ideas!
Wonderful ideas. Great ways to make the holiday more family-oriented!
Great idea-we always prefer spening the time with family instead of "partying".
Our family traditions died with my Grandmother. It's important for the kids in the future though they may groan about it now.
