Creating Beautiful Images in Photoshop Easily

Carrie Lowe
For people who love to play in Photoshop, it can be an amazing piece of software to learn. However, it is important to realize that there are often some very important considerations that you need to take into account in order to create some really beautiful textures that you can be proud of. With many different usages for textures that ranges from wallpapers, to pictures, to art to even creating textures that can be used in virtual worlds such as Second Life.

The key to creating some really nice looking images is not as impossible as some people think though. It is actually quite simple, but requires a bit of careful attention to ensure that you are getting the right results. While it is really easy to put some colors together and create an image, you need to be sure that you are getting the result that you are really looking for. In order to do this, you need to make friends with layers. Layers are the absolute backbone of the graphics program because they allow you to build your images in a slow manner piece by piece. You might end up with close to 100 layers by the time you are finished with creating the image.

Learn how to use groups effectively. Layers can be combined into these groups to make them easier to manage. How you choose to use the layers and groups is entirely up to you. You can separate them by style, or function such as shapes, gradients, solid colors and so forth, or you could just group layers after a certain number has been created. The most important part of layering your groups is that you are able to easily find what you are trying to work with, and can also maneuver between then easily so you can tweak your image.

As you get better at using the groups and layers functions you will find that you are making some significant progress in terms of both quality of the images, as well as overall speed in which you can work. By not having to dig through the dozens of layers individually to find the one layer that you are trying to work with, it will be much easier for you to get the results that you want and need. This makes it possible to also go back and quickly make any corrections that you need as well without stressing over the minor details that could be causing problems with the overall image appearance and lurking underneath dozens of layers hiding from you.
