Creating Christmas Tree Smell with an Artificial Tree

W.S.
If your family has an artificial tree this year, you may be longing for that lovely Christmas tree smell. In this article, I will present some ideas for bringing the Christmas tree smell back to your home, even with an artificial tree.

Creating Christmas Tree Smell with an Artificial Tree - Pine Essential Oil

Pine essential oil smells as close to a real Christmas tree as I have ever found. You can use this fragrant oil to create the real Christmas tree smell in your home during the holidays.

Mix 20-30 drops of pine essential oil in a spray bottle filled with water. Spray the air or even the artificial tree to create a Christmas tree smell. You could also add a few drops of the essential oil directly to the artificial tree, tree skirt, or unscented candles without diluting but be careful not to get it on your skin.

Creating Christmas Tree Smell with an Artificial Tree - Real Tree Clippings

Another way to create the Christmas tree smell with an artificial tree is to use real tree clippings. You can obtain clippings from real Christmas trees from tree farms or gather them from trees on your property or elsewhere in nature.

Place decorative vases around your home and put the tree clippings inside them. Then, you've got the Christmas tree smell without the hassle and mess of an entire real tree. We usually place several vases around the tree and a few throughout the house to hold the clippings.

Creating Christmas Tree Smell with an Artificial Tree - Artificial Tree Spray

There are many Christmas tree "sprays" on the market. These are akin to air fresheners and can be sprayed in the air to create a Christmas tree smell with an artificial tree.

You can usually find these artificial tree sprays at local department stores. They can also be ordered online at a number of retailers. If you Google "Christmas tree spray" you'll find tons of prospective products. I would recommend reading reviews before purchasing one of these, as they don't always smell authentic.

Creating Christmas Tree Smell with an Artificial Tree - Scented Candles

There are also many pine scented candles in the stores around the holidays. These scented candles are a great idea for creating Christmas tree smell with an artificial tree. These are best used in conjunction with one of the other methods mentioned here but even alone they will help create a Christmas tree smell with an artificial tree.

Creating Christmas Tree Smell with an Artificial Tree - Christmas Tree Incense

Another way to create Christmas tree smell with an artificial tree is to burn balsam incense. This incense is made from Christmas tree trimmings and it's very popular throughout the holiday season.

You can find the balsam incense online here for about five dollars per twenty four sticks. It's also sold in cones and logs. The site also offers an oil diffuser with the corresponding Christmas tree oil to create that Christmas tree smell in your home, even if you have an artificial tree.

Exellent list. I have used some of the sprays and was looking for an alternative. There are a few here I must try.

We finally got too old and creaky to cut down our own tree about 5 years ago and did miss the evergeen scent. One year we used candles, but since my house is surrounded by pines, I went out, cut some branches and stuck them in the bottom of the tree. If they browned, I just pulled them out.

Nice; I can have the pleasant smell without the falling needles and sometimes spilled water.
