A customized envelope is a great thing to have these days; it's also an even greater thing for companies to have. Customized envelopes help to create a brand and to be unique and distinguished from other companies. Making customized envelopes however isn't always such a breeze, especially if you're not computer savvy. Using Microsoft Word, it becomes an easy task to perform though; it also does not take a lot of time or knowledge from your part.

In this article I will walk you through the complete steps needed to create the perfect customized envelope for you or for your company.

Create A Customized Envelope Steps:

1. Click on Start, All Programs, and then find Microsoft Word. You can identify the program by a blue "W"; it should be together with all your Microsoft Office applications.
Tip: If you cannot find Microsoft Word at the above location, try using the Search option in your computer to search for it. If you cannot find it there then perhaps you do not have it installed in your computer and you may need to purchase it or reinstall it.

2. Once you have started Microsoft Word, go to Tools, Letters and Mailings, and then click on Envelopes and Labels. This will bring up another window.

3. Enter the deliver address and the return address. You can use your outlook or windows address book to insert these if you wish. You can also chose to omit entering the return address on the letter. In addition to that, you can also choose to add electronic postage.
Note: To add electronic postage, you need to have a program that allows you to do that.

4.1 Once you have customized your envelope click Print if you wish to print it already, or you can chose to view the printing properties/options.

4.2 You can also chose to add the envelope to the document that you may be working on by choosing Add to Document.

Tip: Don't click Print before checking inside the printing properties how you're supposed to place the envelope in the printer.

Now that you have finished creating your customized envelope you should go on and create some templates for yourself. To create a template all you need to do is save what you have as a template as opposed to a regular Word document. You should also save a copy of your customized envelope as a file for future editing or for future printings; this will help you avoid spending time creating the same type of envelope each time that you need one.
