Creating a Drake & Josh Costume for Halloween

Drake Bell and Josh Peck are the stars of Nickelodeon's smash-hit series called, well, Drake & Josh. In the sitcom, Drake and Josh play two teenagers thrown together by their parent's marriage. With Josh following all of the rules, and Drake out to break them, it's a great show to watch about friendship, family and learning about yourself. And it's hilarious. All you really need for this costume is two guys. If one is larger than the other one, that's fine. If not, that works out, too. Josh started out the show being really overweight, and ended the series being as thin as Drake. So, it's a really flexible combo costume to pull off. Drake was always thin, so the thinnest of the two partygoers would do well to play Drake.

Pulling Off Drake

Drake is a super-easy character to pull off. He's a musician, really into rock'n'roll, and dresses in a rock-punk fashion. He's also got short reddish-brown hair. A pair of jeans, preferably skinny and faded, along with a punkish t-shirt will work perfectly. For shoes, you'll usually see him in patterned canvas slip-ons, but sneakers (not white) would work, too. Don't be afraid to accessorize with a thick leather bracelet or funky men's belt. Becoming Josh

Josh started out wearing baggy clothes to hide his larger figure, and ended out wearing trendy (not punk) clothes. This makes him especially easy to copy, as nearly any outfit will work. A t-shirt with an open button down thrown over it and jeans, along with a pair of Vans or similar shoes, would work. Then again, a polo shirt with jeans would work, too. Putting It All Together

The most important thing to consider when pulling off a Drake & Josh combo costume? The dynamic. Drake is laid back and all about rock'n'roll. Josh is about strictly following the rules and constantly gets on Drake about his lax attitude to the world. Example, Josh: "You can't just sit there on someone's couch with a glass of Kool-Aid like that! What if you spilled it? They'd have the 'Kool-Aid stain of Drake" there forever!", Drake: "Chill out, man. Have you seen the pattern on this thing? A little Kool-Aid would be an improvement!" Just to give you an idea.
