Creating Your Dream Lawn with Landscape Boulders
You Dream of the Perfect Lawn, an Oasis of Beauty Consisting of Waterfalls, Rock Gardens and Goldfish Ponds; A Virtual Garden of Eden Right in Your Back Yard. Impossible? Not with Landscaping Boulders
We all know there's nothing like the real thing, but with the invention of fake or faux boulders, even the most exotic landscaping idea can become reality.
Strategic placement and natural looking groupings are important when using boulders in your landscape design. One of the things to keep in mind when designing your landscape, is the area you reside in. You wouldn't want to create mountainous landscape in a flat area where the chance of finding natural stone is nil or almost non existent. Even if you use fake or man-made stone, rock formations or landscaping boulders, the most important thing is that it looks natural.
Now, if you dream of an exotic tropical paradise and have the room to create one, by all means, do it. But remember, too much of a good thing is not necessarily good.
There are advantages and disadvantages to using landscape boulders. One of the advantages is that landscaping with boulders can increase the value of your property. One of the disadvantages is that should you use manmade or faux landscaping boulders, they usually look fake. However using a combination of fake boulders and natural stone will give you the look you desire without the exorbitant price of using all natural stones.
Boulders are implemented in landscape design for a number of reasons. They add grace and beauty to an otherwise boring yard. They are used to conceal drain pipes, lights and security cameras. They're perfect for lining your goldfish pond, accenting your swimming pool, and surrounding a flowerbed or herb garden. They are also used to create or line a walkway, accentuate an outdoor patio or deck, create or outline a rock garden, or anything else you can dream up. Landscape boulders have even been used as a monument marking the grave of a pet or special event such as a wedding. Some even use landscaping boulders (the faux ones) in creating roof gardens!
Other uses for using boulders are to enhance your existing landscape design. For example you've had a pool for several years and want to make it look more inviting. By using a combination of fake and natural stones, landscape boulders, and strategically placed plants, possibly even a faux waterfall; you can turn a regular swimming pool into a private Laguna.
So, no matter what your idea, landscaping with boulders can make your dream yard into a reality!
