Creating an Easter Wallpaper in Daz Bryce 5

Ron Noble
1.) Click on File/Document Setup and set the Document Resolution to whatever resolution you want your wallpaper to be. For this i'm using 800x600. Then click the checkmark.

2.) Now right-click on the little triangle next to Create and the Objects windows should pop up. Click on Imported Objects and select the Egg shape in the second row. Then click the checkmark to insert the object into the scene.

3.) Duplicate the object once using Control-D and then move the duplicated egg object to wherever you choose.

4.) Now, for the lighting, we are going to create an intense sky-like lighting. So right-click next to Sky & Fog and choose Haze/smog.

5.) After that click on the Sky & Fog label to bring up the Settings bar. Hold Control-Alt and click on the little Sun Color box to bring up the Color Dialog. Choose a very light yellow color, such as 255, 255, 223. Then press OK. Then change the Ambient color to 255, 255, 223 also.

6.) Now for the Easter egg'ss textures. Select one or both Easter eggs and right-click the triangle next to edit to bring up the texture window. Choose a texture, such as Christmas Ball #17 and apply it. Then, if you haven't done so already, choose a texture for your second Easter egg. Now click the checkmark. Also, feel free to experiment with the texture settings by clicking on the "E" next to the egg object.

7.) Select Plane one and then right-click Edit to select a ground texture. I suggest Mossy Rock under Planes and Terrains for the best setting.

Now you should have the beginnings of the a three-dimensional Easter wallpaper in Bryce 5. The best thing about creating in Bryce though, as with any art, is experimentation and adding your own little style to the scene. You can find plenty of 3DS models and Bryce addons all over the internet to complete your Easter wallpaper or even create everything, textures, models, sky settings and all on your own. You can even add some grass to the scene to increase the realism.
