Creating Fake Bruises for a Halloween Costume

Janet Cey
Halloween can be a lot of fun especially for people who like to dress up and be scary. On Halloween a lot of people like to be very creative and add fake blood, scars, or bruises on their body to enhance their costumes. Making fake bruises can be a lot of fun for a Halloween costume. The key point in making fake bruises for a Halloween costume is to make it look as realistic as possible. My friends and I have had many costumes in the past that required making fake bruises. Here are steps on how to make a fake bruise for your Halloween costume.

Step 1: Choose the product(s) you are going to make your fake bruise from

A lot of stores sell Halloween paint to help create fake bruises. The Halloween paint is a good product, but if you want your fake bruises to look more realistic I suggest real makeup. You can use foundation or eye shadow to make your fake bruises.

The best colors to use for a fake bruise is a combination of black, brown, and blue

Step 2: Mix your colors before applying

Some people may put the colors on their bodies' one at a time. My suggestion is to mix your colors before you put it on your body. Get a makeup brush and mix your colors on their and then apply to your body. By blending the colors you will have the perfect blend that will make your fake bruise look real.

Step 3: Put your fake bruise on slowly

When putting your paint or makeup on your body to make the fake bruises do it slowly so it can look realistic. Put a little makeup on your arm to begin with and depending on how it looks make It darker if it needs to be.

Step 4: Don't go over board on your fake bruises

When putting on fake bruises don't go over board. Make sure the bruises are not too big or small so they don't look realistic. Also don't put too many fake bruises on yourself that may not help them look realistic either.

Step 5: Remember to have fun and be safe on Halloween

Putting fake bruises on and making your costume look good is all in the Halloween fun. Just remember when going to on Halloween to be safe and have a good time.
