Creating Ghost Magnets

Shannon Frye
Creating a ghost magnet is not very hard to do. There are many different methods that you can choose. You can create a ghost which is made from white felt or you can choose to crochet your ghost, which will take a little bit of time. You will only need to make a square which is about six inches by six inches. You with then have a perfect square which is crocheted that you can turn into a ghost. You can also make several of these for each side of your fridge. You will want to make sure that there are no loose ends so you will want to tie those back into the design.

Now you can take some type of stuffing material such as cotton and place a ball of this material on top of the squares. The cotton material will be the ghosts head. You will need to purchase orange or black yarn to tie around the head of the ghost. Now you will have the basic shape of the crocheted ghost. You will then be able to purchase different colored pieces of felt which can go on the crocheted ghost. If you used a white yard for the ghost you can use black or orange yard to tie around the head of the ghost. If you used orange to create the ghost you can use white or black to tie around the neck of the ghost.

You will want to take the yarn and tie a bow around the neck of the ghost. You can use the felt to create eyes on the ghost and other patterns. These are quite fun to make and you can purchase magnets to stick on the back of the ghosts to hang them up on different appliances. The decorations will not cost you most then $10 to make and they create a nice little scene on your fridge or your other appliances. You can create different colored ghosts such as white, orange and black. You can even create some for your friends or family.

You can have your children help you with this craft. It will take a little bit to crochet the basic square, but from there it will not take you very long. You will need the yarn to create the ghost and you will need yard to tie around the neck. You will need some type of cotton material and felt as well. You will also need to purchase some magnets that you can glue on the design or stick onto the design. The choice is completely up to you. This is very fun to do so make sure that you create several of them.
