Creating the perfect graduation stationary involves having some general knowledge of Microsoft Word, but can easily be achieved with minimal knowledge and a little direction. The best way to begin is by opening a new word document. Once your document is open, click on the Insert link at the top and scroll down to clip art. In the Search text box, type the words: graduation. A variety of clip art pictures should be brought up for you to view. If you don't see a picture the ones that come up from your initial search, you can click on Clips Online under See also.
Once you reach Clips Online, you will most likely have to re-enter your initial search: graduation. Once you do this, pages of available clip art will pop up and be readily available for you to choose from to design your graduation stationary.
Once you decide what clip art you want to use in designing your graduation stationary, you are left to decide how you want your page layout to look. Some suggestions are inserting a clip art image on at the top of your stationary either in the middle or a picture in each corner or even one corner. An example would be putting a clip art picture of caps and a diploma in each corner of your page. This is a perfect design to get you started.
If you choose a clip art design from Online, you simply add a check mark to the box below the picture and then click add to basket on your right. Follow the simple directions from there and be sure to add your picture to a file where you can easily find it.
Another idea for creating the perfect graduation stationary is to find a larger picture of graduation that you really like. Insert this picture into the middle of your page. Once you have the picture centered largely across the page, click on the picture and a new menu will pop up, click format picture. One you get to this point, Click on the layout tab, and check the box that says behind text. This is one way to keep color on your graduation stationary. If you decide you have too much color in your picture, you can choose to washout the picture to make it appear lighter behind the text. In order to do this, you click on the picture again and click format picture. On the format tab, click color and washout. This is one of the best ways to design your graduation stationary and make it look just like store bought stationary.
When designing your graduation stationary, one of the most important things to keep in mind is to have fun! Use your imagination and you may end up with a finished product that is better than anything you could have purchased.

If using MSWord you can also easily insert a photograph as a background image. Click on Format, Background, Printed Watermark, Select Picture, and you're in business. Check the washout box and it makes the photo very pale so your text will be right on top of the grad's pic.
