There are sites out there that let you Blog for free like Blogger.com, Typepad and LiveJournal.
You can register a domain name that would be redirected to one of the free blogging sites you choose- this allows you to get more internet traffic but is totally optional.
You can add pictures, images, graphic designs, ect The Sky Is the Limit. But you should be mindful that the blog is public so you don't want to share something that is too personal or something that you would be embarrassed about in the future.
You can write on a daily basis or a weekly basis. I kept a weekly pregnancy journal with my first child and it was nice to jot my thoughts down.
Topics you can post about are :
- your reaction when you found out you were pregnant
- how you told the father of the baby "we are expecting" (I know someone who gave their husband a mini sized candy bar and two large size one and had a note on the small one saying I'll see you in 9 months Dad)
- the reaction of the baby's father
- the reaction of family members, better yet, how you told them (I bought small bottles of baby lotion and wrapped them up. After dinner I handed them to the women and made them open with their spouse and then blurted my big news! My mom actually started to cry and my dad was the first to figure out what my husband and I were trying to tell them
- your reaction the first time you saw the sonogram
- your reaction when you hear the heart beating for the first time
- your adventures of having to find a new wardrobe
- your favorite places to shop for maternity clothes (mine was Target and Old Navy)
- your favorite foods, your least favorite foods
- you can take weekly measurements of your belly and see your baby grow week to week
- you can write about your favorite thing to do or least favorite
- you can provide updates on the baby's development
- ect
Hope this gives you some ideas and inspiration for creating a pregnancy blog for you and something to share with your family and friends. Good luck!!!
