Creating a New You This Spring

K. F. Lynn
As the weather gets warmer, many of us feel the desire to want to change up our style a little. Warmer weather gives us not only the opportunity to wear lighter clothes, but also let's us experiment with our looks to compliment the beautiful outdoors! Here are a few ways that you can play up your looks for the springtime.

Invest in a brightly colored eye-liner. Left of center colors such as emerald green, blue, or purple can draw a lot of attractive attention to your eyes. The best way to play up your eyes with these colors without overwhelming your face is by using the color only the top or bottom of your eye - not both. If you are lining the bottom of your eye, feel free to line your top lashline with a brown, black or gray, or leave it free of liner all together for a fun fresh-faced look!
Pick out a bright, fun lipstick. While I know that many of us ladies, myself included, aren't lipstick-every-day gals, it is a better product to use for a night on the town than lip gloss is - less re-applications and has better sticking power! A bright lipstick paired with neutral eyes and cheeks is a great look for springtime.

Take special care of your eyebrows, or get them done professionally! Many people don't realize how much of a positive impact manicured eyebrows can have on your face. They frame your eyes, ladies and gentlemen, and a lot more people notice them than you'd think! With spring upon us use the opportunity to get your face as much positive attention as possible - this goes to show that makeup truly isn't everything. And don't worry, if you're no good at doing your own brows you can get them done at almost any hair or nail salon for as low as $5!

Don't be afraid to wear an obnoxious shade of nail-polish! This is personally one of my favorite parts of the springtime - I bust out my lemon yellows and electric blues the minute the temperature climbs to 60 degrees. Don't be afraid to experiment! Spring is a warm, happy season and your colors can reflect it to whatever degree you wish - even if you decide to settle for a simple but classic bright pink.

Remember, the springtime gives us a lot more room to get creative with our style. Whether it is something small like your nail-polish or getting a little more dramatic and putting flowers in your hair, the warm weather and happy feelings associated with the season let you show your fun side. Don't be afraid - get out there and create a new you this spring!
