Creating a World of Warcraft (WoW) Guild Website

Dawn Krakowski
Are you a guild master, or even a member of a guild, looking for an easier way to communicate to the members of your guild? Do you have a hard time telling everyone when and where to meet for raids and exactly how many tanks, dps, and healers you need? If so, then you may want to consider creating a guild website. Even if you've never made a website before, one place makes it super easy to create a website specifically designed for World of Warcraft guilds.

Wowstead.com is an amazing site that is easy to use to create the kind of website you are looking for. According to the Wowstead home page "Wowstead allows World of Warcraft players to create extremely advanced websites for their guild with a simple click of a button. Choose your graphical template, customize it as you like, add custom widgets full of cool information, integrated forums and much more -- all without needing to know HTML!" The site walks you through the process, and all you have to do is select the various options that you see fit for your website. The Guild Spotlight section featured on the Wowstead site showcases an actual guild website that you can use as a reference or even get new ideas for your own website!

An extra feature that Wowstead also has is the option to "subscribe" your guild website to get added features. This subscription costs $7.50 per month, but only adds three benefits: there is no advertisement at the top of the page, you can add a "guild bank" module, and the option to add a "live chat" module. If your guild does not need these features, it may not be worth it to pay the subscription fee. However, if you or other members of your guild feel that these features are worth having, you can add the "guild billing" module to your website which allows members to send donations to pay for the subscription fee. New features are being developed by Wowstead, so be sure to keep checking back after you create your website to get all of the newest features.

The most important thing is for you to have fun with it! The website should be something you are proud of and want to keep working on. If at any time you feel frustrated or stuck, Wowstead also has its own forums and help site if you need that little extra help to create your website just the way you want it!
