Creative Halloween Costume: How to Make a Gothic Rag Doll Halloween Costume

Need a scary or unique Halloween costume idea? Maybe you're into the Gothic scene and want to create your own Gothic Halloween costume for yourself or maybe for a group costume idea. Some cool Gothic Halloween costumes you may like would be a Gothic dead bride, Gothic vampire, Gothic ballerina, or a Gothic rag doll. I am going to show you how you create can your own Gothic rag doll Halloween costume. This costume is very easy to create, unique looking, and most of the items needed for this Gothic Halloween costume you probably already have in your wardrobe. The Gothic rag doll costume reminds me of Raggedy Ann expect this one is evil or should I say grouchy looking. Matter of fact if I remember correctly my niece told me something about Raggedy Ann having a Gothic looking twin.

My niece who is into the Gothic look saw a picture of the Gothic rag doll costume on the computer and wanted to create this look for Halloween. Me and my niece being an artist sat down and created how we wanted this Gothic ragdoll costume to look. So here is how you can make your own Gothic rag doll Halloween costume.

Items needed for the Gothic rag doll costume

Black yarn wig with 2 ponytails( Try to match Raggedy Ann) If you can't find a Black wig similar to Raggedy Ann buy the Red Raggedy Ann wig spray it with Black colored hairspray.

2 Skull ponytail holders with Pink plaid bows (These can be easily made in ten minutes)

Black spiked chocker

Black wig cap (Place it under the wig)

Clothing for Gothic rag doll costume:

Short Black dress, a White ruffle shirt, White or black bloomers, Black & White stripped leggings, and Black Gothic looking boots

Make-up for Gothic rag doll costume:

Black lipstick or deep Burgundy, Black eyeliner for eyes & around lip, Black mascara, Black eyebrow pencil, Black nail polish, and White face make-up or powder.

First thing to do is put your clothing on. This way you won't get any make-up on your outfit or wig. Once you have the clothing properly next would be to apply the Black wig cap. To secure the Black wig cap place a few bobby pins then apply the Black wig. Next would be the fun part the make-up.

Make your face completely White using a White face crème or powder. Outline your lips using the Black eyebrow pencil fill them in with Black lipstick or Burgundy. Now make 1 line coming out of the corner of your mouth on each side. Make sure the line is about 1 ½ long going up towards your cheeks.

Take your Black pencil make 3 Black dots on each of your cheeks. The Black dots should be placed level with the middle of your nose going straight across. It should be approximately 1 inch under your bottom eyelid.

For the eyes use the Black liquid eyeliner. Start with the top lid. Make a thick Black line from the beginning of eye to the corner of your eye. Make sure when you get to the corner wing the Black liner out level with the corner of your brow. To get the line thick it may take you 2 or 3 times to achieve the thickness. Just keep reapplying the Black until desired look. Apply the Black liner under the eye repeating the same technique except don't wing the bottom line out. Take a q-tip make 2 points under each eye. The points should be leveled with the first Black dot and third Black dot on your cheek.

Apply 2 to 3 coats of Black mascara, place a dark charcoal color eye shadow on top of each lid smear it in the corners blended it with the corner wings. Take your Black brow pencil make your eyebrows dark as possible. Be sure to place an arch in the brows using the Black pencil.

Put your boots, leggings, and Black nail polish on. Your now ready to be a Gothic rag doll for Halloween.
