If you're tired of dressing up in the same old Halloween costume, there are many creative, unique and funny homemade Halloween costumes you could make. Many of these costumes can be made very cheaply and easily. If you prefer, you can go to more effort and expense to create an amazing and memorable Halloween costume.

Creative Homemade Halloween Costume Idea for Adults: White Trash

There are two ways you can make a white trash adult Halloween costume. One is to get a very cheap, large plastic garbage can and cut out the bottom with sharp scissors. Lay down some newspaper outside on a driveway or in the garage and spray paint the trash can white. Then paint the words "White Trash" across the front. Drill holes in the front and back of the top of the trash can and attach two elastic straps, one on each side. The other way to make a white trash costume is to make a dress out of large black trash bag. Save some wrappers from the products you use for about a week, then attach a few of them to the outside of the bag with loops of box tape or double-sided tape.

Creative Homemade Halloween Costume Idea for Adults: One Night Stand

Get a cardboard box that's slightly wider than your hips and about two feet tall. Cut a hole out the top of the box that's the same size and shape as your waist. Attach some colored construction paper or paint the box to make it look like a nightstand. Then get an old lampshade that will fit on your head. Attach objects to the top of the stand to give this Halloween costume more flair. Before going out for Halloween, slip the night stand over your head, then put the lamp shade on your head. To make this creative Halloween costume complete, have your wife or girlfriend kiss you on your cheek while wearing lots of lipstick.

Creative Homemade Halloween Costume Idea for Adults: Lite Brite

Get a large cardboard box that is large enough for you to fit your entire torso inside it. Paint it black or cover it in black paper or posterboard. Cut openings for your head and for your hips and arms. Carefully poke small holes in the sides of the box. Buy a string of battery-operated LED Christmas lights and push them through the holes in the sides of the box. Then just slip the Lite Brite Halloween costume over your head before you go out on Halloween evening.

Creative Homemade Halloween Costume Idea for Adults: Mail Order Bride

Find a long white dress that looks like a wedding dress. Add a wedding veil, white panty hose and shoes. To keep this creative Halloween costume cheap, use clothes you already have in your closet and make accessories such as the veil yourself. Then find some Priority or Express Mail tape or stickers and place them all over your dress. Another idea for a mail order bride Halloween costume is to cut holes in a cardboard box for your arms, legs and head, then put mailing labels on the box.

Creative Homemade Halloween Costume Idea for Adults: Vending Machine

Get two large cardboard boxes, one slightly smaller than the other. The smaller box should fit inside the larger one, and both boxes should be large enough for you to wear. Paint both boxes the same color. Cut a hole in the front of the larger box to make the vending machine window. Then cut holes for your head, arms and hips in both boxes. Hot glue some bags of chips and candy bars to the front of the small box. Get a large sheet of clear plastic and glue it to the inside of the hole in the front of the larger box. Then make up some labels showing the prices of the vending items. Also make a label to look like an electronic panel with buttons and coin and dollar slots. Place the small box inside the larger one with the candy and chips showing through the window, and your creative Halloween costume is complete.
