Creative Mother's Day Craft Idea for Moms and Kids: Time Capsule

Elaine Pearl Rolls
Preservation of the past for future generations seems to be the easiest way of leaving some form of legacy. The time capsule is testament to this. The form of time capsules has varied over time into more personal, family based operations. The mother's day time capsule is no different.

The key to making an individual mothers day time capsule is planning. It might seem that most time capsules are just about gathering some old junk and putting all into an airtight container and burying it. The truth of the seemingly simple matter is this; time capsules are about being creative and slightly original.

Every successful venture has to have some direction. When deciding on taking on the wonderful journey of preserving a mothers day capsule. You have to be prepared to do the groundwork.

What does planning entail? Simply put, it is your statement to whoever will open your mother's day time capsule. What is it that you want to say was so special about mothers day/ Was it that the world came together to celebrate the important roles that mothers play? Or is it how special mothers were made to feel by getting all those flowers and presents?

Your ideas will most likely be unique to your experience of mothers day. In that you should think about revealing something interesting. Make a list with reasons as to why each item is there. The mistake people make is assuming that the person who opens your time capsule will know what your thoughts were.

Spend the time being extra sensitive to things like item description. Try to incorporate things that excite you about mother's day. More so think about what would you like to find in a mothers day time capsule.

If items are labeled with more than just a description but a personal philosophical reason why it is in the mothers day time capsule will indeed create a much more vivid explanation. Items should first be individually sealed.

Think of your mother's day time capsule as a treasure that should not disappoint the finder.

Do not forget your map. Remember that every great adventure began with a map with the white boned x showing where the great treasure was.
