Creative Recipe Idea for Super Bowl XLIII - the Great Snack Food Stadium

Ellery Bailey
When you are planning your Super Bowl XLIII party, half of the fun is trying to set the mood - banners for your favorite team, football-themed cups, plates, bowls, and napkins, team logos everywhere. You may even buy bowls and serving plates that have a football them. This is all good, but this year, why not go one better. Make your own "serving bowl" for some of the goodies. How? There's something you need to see. It's the Great Snack Food Stadium. Apparently a group of very creative individuals at HolyTaco.com came up with the ultimate "chips & dip" bowl.

They taken a bunch of ingredients and created an edible food stadium - just in time for Super Bowl XLIII.

By assembling a football stadium base out of Twinkies (others have suggested corn dogs, which I believe makes more sense) above a field created with salsa (for the Arizona Cardinals) and queso (for the Pittsburgh Steelers), and guacamole for the field - and then adding other food items to represent goal posts, players, and fans in the stands - you will truly have the most original food item at the party.

If you'd like to make this, first check out HolyTaco's page with photos and complete step-by-step instructions, and then here's your grocery list:

1 Pound of Guacamole

15 Oz. Queso Dip

15 Oz. Salsa For

2 Oz. Sour Cream for the Field Lines

15 Vienna Sausages

3 Oz. Sharp Cheddar Cheese

1 Slim Jim

1 Oz. Monterey Jack Cheddar

58 Twinkies

1 Pound of Bacon

1 Bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos

1 Bag of Cheetos

1 Bag of Corn Tortilla Chips

1 Bag of Chex Mix

This has to be one of the most original ideas for a way to offer up treats and snacks for the Super Bowl game, and according to the creators it costs under $100.
