Creative Uses for Weight Watchers Ice Cream Bars

Amy Brantley
When it comes to dieting, you have to be creative. This means taking some of your favorite products and making them into something new. While pondering on a dessert idea the other day, I came up with the idea to use my Weight Watchers Ice Cream Bars in a dessert, rather than just munching on them as they were. Because the bars are so low in points, you can easily add other sweet treats to make them into something else. Here are just a few ideas to get you started.

Ice Cream Sundaes

The first idea I came up with was to use Weight Watchers Ice Cream Bars to make a simple sundae. I used the chocolate fudge flavor and added some chocolate covered coffee beans. The entire dessert only had 6 PointsPlus Points. You could get as creative as you wanted with this idea. You could add sugar-free,, fat-free ice cream toppings, other candies, nuts, or any other items you like on your ice cream sundaes as long as it fits within your Points limit.

Ice Cream Sandwiches

Another fun idea is to take an ice cream bar, cut it into four pieces and use eight Point friendly cookies to make ice cream sandwiches. Wrap them in plastic wrap and toss them in the freezer. The cookies will soften and you'll have a quick and decadent treat the next time your sweet tooth flares up. If you wanted, you could even roll the ice cream sandwiches in mini semi-sweet chocolate chips or another low Point food to give the sandwiches a bit more texture.

Milkshakes

You doesn't love a good milkshake? If you're stumped on how to make one that is Weight Watchers friendly, just use the ice cream bars. Allow a chocolate fudge ice cream bar to soften and then pour 1/4 cup of fat-free milk into a blender along with the softened ice cream. Blend until smooth and top with fat-free whipped topping. If you want to stretch the milkshake a bit, you can also add ice cubes to make the milkshake frostier and give it more volume.

Ice Cream Pies

If you want something to serve your guests, this is an easy technique to use. All you need to do is allow three ice cream bars to soften and then spread half of each bar into a mini graham cracker crust. Top with sugar-free fudge topping or a few chocolate candies and you've got a quick dessert that everyone will love. Best of all, no one will know that it's part of your diet plan.
