Creative Ways to Announce You're Having Twins

So you just got out of the ultrasound room and your doctor has confirmed it: You're having twins! Now how do you tell everyone? Well, for one thing, you can have a lot of fun with this one, as no one's expecting any surprise news until the gender reveal later on! Here are some fun, creative ideas for announcing that you're having twins.

Build your registry and put two of everything on it. Then tell people you need help deciding what to add to your registry. Have them look at it and wait for them to wonder why there is two of every item.

Gather everyone together for a group picture, and then instead of telling them to "say cheese" tell them, "say, we're having twins!" Snap the picture right away and you'll have everyone's reactions to the news! If still haven't announced your pregnancy yet, first have them say "(your name)'s pregnant!" Then wait until the excitement has died down and tell everyone to gather together for a real picture. Then announce your twins!

If you have an ultrasound picture of the babies, show them to people and see if they notice that there are two babies. You can also give a gift of two picture frames, one frame for each baby's picture.

Buy a t-shirt that announces you are having twins. Wear it until people notice what it says!

At dinner, serve yourself a little food. Start to eat, then add a little more. Start to eat again, then add a little more one more time and say, "I'm so hungry! Well, no wonder. I'm eating for three!"

Search "twin outfits" online and you'll find some websites that sell cute and creative twin outfits. Many of these are gender neutral, so you can buy a set. Tell the person/ people you are surprising that you bought some outfits for the baby. Then show them the clothes!

If you found out you're having twins later on in your pregnancy, and you know you're having boy/girl twins, there are a few more fun ideas you can try.

Bake a cake with two layers: one pink and one blue. Then frost it with white frosting. Tell people when the cake is sliced into, they'll find out the gender! They might be confused at first as to why there are both blue and pink in the cake. Give it a minute and then make the announcement!

Bake some cupcakes and color half of them blue and half pink. Have people bit into them to find out the gender. This idea is a little more fun than the cake idea because some people will be saying, "It's a girl!" and others will be saying "It's a boy!" They'll get confused and will be comparing cupcakes and looking at you quizzically until you tell them its twins!

Tell everyone you're going to announce the gender by revealing an outfit you bought for your baby. Pull out one of the outfits, and watch people's reactions. Then, after it settles in, say, "Oh, and we also got this one." And pull out the second outfit in the opposite gender!
