A creative way to celebrate Father's Day is to do one of his favorite activities. What does your dad like to do? Does he like bowling, fishing, or car racing? Sharing the day with your dad doing his favorite activity, will make dad's day. He will love celebrating Father's Day with his child doing his favorite activity.
If you like making crafts, you might want to make dad a Father's Day gift. At the very least, make dad a Father's Day card that he can treasure forever. You can get the construction paper out and find the creativity in you.
If your dad likes playing football, drag him out of the house and have a game for him. Remember to go easy on dad since it is Father's Day. If dad likes basketball better, you might want to shoot some hoops with him. Some dads just like to sit and relax so these are not good ideas for those couch potatoes.
If you are an older child and you do not see dad much, plan a visit for Father's Day and take a ride where he used to take you. Talk about a favorite memory you have of the place. If dad bought you ice cream in years gone by, you might want to treat him to a cone for Father's Day.
Making and bringing dad a meal is a great Father's Day gift. Dads love to be pampered. Giving a breakfast in bed or even bringing a special dessert to dad will win a smile. Depending on how creative you would like to be, you might want to decorate his serving tray or even put a Father's Day card with his treat.
If you choose to celebrate Father's Day with a Father's Day gift this year, take dad to the store and make him help you choose. Some dads hate to go shopping, but if they are going to go shopping for themselves their entire demeanor changes. Another reason to take dad shopping with you is so you do not get the wrong thing. He will feel bad if he has to exchange the gift you gave him for what he really wants.
If you live far away from dad, make it a point to call him on Father's Day. The sound of your voice will cheer dad up even if you cannot be there.
Remember that however you choose to celebrate Father's Day, it is a day worth acknowledging dad for all he has done. Besides, without dad you would not be here and be the person that you are. With these creative ways to celebrate Father's Day, he will know you are thinking about him.
