Easter grass now comes in many beautiful colors, including vibrant colors and pastels. The grass is very inexpensive, especially if you buy on clearance after the holiday, so it's a craft supply anyone can afford to have in their craft supply box. You can buy both paper grass or plastic grass. You really should stock up on both!
Ways to use Easter grass in crafts or home decor:
Easter Grass Vase Decor: If you have a clear vase that holds artificial flowers, you can pack Easter grass in the bottom of the vase to add color. You can pack it in tight in layers to almost look like sand art. Or you can pack it loosely as a colorful and decorative way to hold your artificial flowers in place.
Easter Grass Clay: Mix paper easter grass with a bit of glue and work the dough until you can shape it like clay. Let your kids make beads, flowers, figures or whatever they want. Let the creations air dry then display them any way you want. For glue, you can use any craft white glue or you can make your own paste using a flour and water mixture. You will find paste recipes in this article.
Easter Grass Art: Let your kids add Easter grass to their artwork to make 3D art. Show your kids that they can glue bunches of grass to create bushes or single strands to create fields of grass, hair, flower stems, etc. You can use any craft glue for this project.
Easter Grass Doll Hair: Plastic Easter grass is quite durable and can be used to make funky hair on homemade dolls. You can glue the hair on using a low heat glue gun or fabric glue, or you can sew the hair on. You can also create braids or ponytails using the grass.
Easter Grass Soil Cover: If you have potted plants in your home, you can use Easter grass over the soil to help keep the moister in the soil after watering. Just water your plants over the grass. Change the grass as needed to keep it clean.
Easter Grass Filling: If you like to make stuffed dolls or stuffed toys, you can fill them with Easter Grass. This is a very good filer for small cat toys. The grass makes a crunchy sound that the cats just love!
There are so many ways you can use Easter grass in crafts and home decorating. Once you get started, you will be able to come up with many more ideas on your own.
