Creative Ways to Edit Photos

The saying is that a picture is worth a thousand words. And nowadays, how it is edited can add a few hundred more. With the popularity of digital pictures, it has become increasingly easier to edit those photos with everything from cute to disturbing.

Photo editing is now simpler and less expensive than it was years ago. And even then, it was not as easy as it is now to make "special" edits without a lot of work. Editing software can range from the expensive and highly elaborate Photoshop, to free and online like Picnik. Both of these photo editing software can give you the results that you are looking for.

A simple and cute way of editing a photo could be as simple as placing a border around the photo to make it look like a snapshot. Also cute and simple is changing the photo color scheme such as adding a sepia tone, or changing the photo from a color picture to a black and white picture. Equally easy and cute is adding writing to the photo, or even thought bubbles with thoughts written inside of them.

While some people wish to remove red-eye from a photo, a cute edit would be to change the eye color of the subject in the photo. Changing the color of a shirt, or hair is also a cute way to edit a photo.

More elaborate ways to edit a photo would be to take a subject out of the original photo and move them to a different photo with a different background, or even with different subjects in the photo. Another cute way to edit a photo is to place a smaller picture of a subject on the shoulder, or anywhere in a photo that is nothing like the original. For instance, removing a subject who is sitting in the original photo, and placing them on top of an elephant in a different photo.

These types of edits can be cute and funny when sent as emails, and or gifts. Directions are given within the help areas of the photo editing software to make photo editing easy and fun.
