Creative Ways to Reuse Your Coffee Grounds

Your coffee grind that is sitting on your kitchen counter can be used for more things than just making a cup of coffee. You'll be amazed at all the wonderful things you can use that coffee for. So fill up your coffee mug, and sit back and read some interesting uses for coffee.

Get ants to leave you alone

Put your used coffee grounds onto anthills.

You will have to spread the coffee grounds around the different anthills you find, but it's worth the effort. It is non-toxic, and it will work. Ants are not fans of coffee!

Cleaning

Yes, you can clean your kitchen surfaces with coffee grounds. The coffee grounds are abrasive but gentle enough to clean your kitchen surfaces with. Give it a try. Use a particular favorite smelling coffee of yours to clean with. Hmmm....enjoy the aroma! Your Kitchen may end up smelling of your favorite coffee house!

Plants like coffee

They really do. So give them a little bit of coffee with some lime. This will control the acidity. If you compost, then simply ad your used coffee grinds to the compost, and you will grow strong happy plants.

Cats do not like coffee

Really, they don't. If you have a neighborhood cat that likes to frequent your garden bed and pretend it is a litter box, use coffee to keep the cat away. Simply sprinkle a mixture of coffee grinds and orange peels around your plants and garden. Cats do not like this smell, and will look for new places to call " bathroom"

Fireplaces

If you are planning on cleaning out your fireplace hearth, use some coffee first. Sprinkle used coffee grounds over the area you will be sweeping. This will make sweeping easier and faster. It will also keep the charcoal dust from coming up and getting into the room.

Sinks like coffee

Pour some used coffee grinds into your smelly kitchen drain. Follow with some boiling water. Fragrant coffee aroma will infiltrate your kitchen instead of stinky drain odor!

Fisherman love coffee and so do the worms

Fishermen are known to treat their worms to a container of moist used coffee grounds. They keep the worms in the containers to make them easier to pick up and to keep them alive longer.

Freezer smells

If you have bad odors coming from your freezer, try putting one or two bowls of used coffee grounds in the freezer overnight. This should help alleviate bad odors.
