Creative Ways to Say "Thank You" After Christmas: M&Ms, Videos, Cards and More

Sally Albright
All of the presents have been unwrapped, and you and your family are enjoying the gifts you have received from family and friends. Show your family and friends how much you appreciate the gifts by saying "thank you." However, don't just purchase thank you cards; use one of these creative ideas for telling someone thank you instead.

Thank You Photo

One alternative to sending a simple thank you note or card is to send out thank you photos. Take each person stand with the gift they received from a specific person sitting in front of them while holding a piece of paper with the words thank you written on it. Take their picture, switching out each gift with each shot. If you want to include an even lengthier thank you note, you can write the details of your thank you note on the back of the picture.

Thank You Video

Many people capture videos of their family opening up their gifts on birthdays and Christmas. You can use these videos as a way of telling someone, thank you, for the gift they've sent you. Most point and shoot digital cameras come with a video camera function which can serve this purpose well. The greatest part is that the gift giver will be able to personally see just how much a member of your family loved their gift.

Personalized M&M's

You can visit MyMMs.com to personalize a package of M & M's candy as a form of saying thank you to the gift giver. You can personalize the M & M's candy with up to 8 characters per line, which makes it possible to have the words thank you printed on the back of each M & M's candy.

Write a Thank You Letter

E-mail has become a popular way of keeping in contact with friends and family. Because of this the hand written letter has become rare. Sending someone a hand written thank you letter can be just the thing to show someone how much you appreciate their gift. Make sure to tell them about how useful the gift will be or what specifically it is about the gift that you like.

Homemade Thank You Card

Homemade cards are popular crafts for special occasions such as Christmas. Why not use the idea of homemade cards to make your own thank you cards? Homemade thank you cards are more personal than the thank you cards bought at the store. This can be a fun craft project for children to do to show family and friends they appreciate their gifts. If you are not very crafty, you can use special computer software to make your own homemade thank you cards using your computer.

By sending out a thank you to your gift givers you can show them how much you appreciate their gift(s). Using one of the methods above will allow you to send out a thank you that is both creative and thoughtful.
