Magazines are often worth keeping, especially if they contain how-to information, recipes and ideas. However, they can end up out of control if not properly stored and contained. In time the stacks and piles look like a hoard. It is possible to store periodicals in neat and organized ways, even years of publications. Use these practical ways to store magazines, and find creative solutions for organizing and storing all types of publications.

Keep them in Sturdy Papered Cereal Boxes

One of the cheapest and most creative ways to store magazines is in papered cereal boxes. Save sturdy cardboard cereal boxes of the appropriate size, and remove the flaps from the tops. Cover the boxes in peel and stick paper, wrapping paper or wallpaper, and label the sides with the title, month and they were published. If the cereal boxes are thick enough, they can store up to a year of monthly magazines. Stack and store the boxes of magazines on an empty shelf. They will be easy to find, use and store, and they will take up very little space.

Use Plastic Lidded and Labeled Containers to Store Magazines

Sturdy cereal boxes can work when trying to store magazines. However, when they do not completely fill up the boxes and will be stacked, something sturdier is required. When seeking a sturdier method of storage opt for plastic lidded and labeled containers. Make sure they are designed for stacking before making a purchase. When trying to save magazines they are well-worth the price.

Store Magazines on a Rack in Pretty Lined Baskets

If closet space is lacking and magazines must be stored out in the open, consider using pretty lined baskets of the appropriate size. If they will be stacked use the lidded variety. Otherwise, consider buying a shelf unit along with baskets of the correct size. This will make it easy to store and organize years of magazines in one convenient location, and they will not look like a mess. On the contrary they will look neat, and the baskets and overhanging linings will add style and beauty to the home.
